Usui Reiki courses in New Zealand
At Soul Tree we offer all levels of Usui Reiki courses regularly at welcoming venues across Auckland and Christchurch (with classes from time to time in other cities around the country).
We support students wanting an introduction to energy healing at Level 1 to those wanting to deepen their practice as a Reiki Practitioner, or level up to Reiki Master or Teacher. Our courses are grounded in the traditional Usui method and taught in genuinely supportive groups.
You'll leave not just certified, but genuinely confident in your practice — and part of a community that keeps growing long after the course ends.

About Soul Tree
Founded by Sirpa Gunn in 2018
Soul Tree was founded in 2018 by Sirpa Gunn, a Reiki Master Teacher and 500-hour certified yoga teacher based in Pukekohe, New Zealand. Sirpa travels throughout New Zealand teaching Reiki and also teaches regular traditional Hatha yoga classes from her studio in Pukekohe.
Sirpa initially studied Reiki in New Zealand within the Western Reiki tradition that came through Hawayo Takata. In 2023, she deepened her studies by retraining in the Japanese Reiki tradition with Hyakuten Inamoto, founder of Komyo ReikiDo. In 2026, she travelled to Japan on a Reiki pilgrimage with Reiki researcher and author Justin B. Stein, visiting places connected to the history and development of Reiki.
She is also a 500-hour Yoga Alliance certified teacher and Yoga Alliance Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provider.
Sirpa brings together her experience of both Western and Japanese Reiki traditions, her yoga practice, ongoing research and study, and many years of teaching experience in her Reiki courses. Her approach is practical, grounded and respectful of Reiki's Japanese roots, while recognising the different traditions and perspectives that have shaped Reiki as it is practised today.
